"A Dream of Artemis" depicts a story taken from Greek mythology. It involves the goddess Artemis (goddess of the hunt) and a mortal prince named Actaeon. Actaeon began a trip of misfortune by stumbling onto the sacred ground that belonged to Artemis. There, he witnessed Artemis and her ladies-in-waiting in disrobed splendor as they were bathing in a stream. Angered by this disrespect, Artemis transformed Actaeon into a brawny stag. Then, as the scene shows, Actaeon's own hounds turn upon him while Artemis prepares to run him through with her spear. As Actaeon attempts to flee, the ladies-in-waiting take pity and try to protect him. Worth many times this wholesale price, we currently have (one) available for immediate shipment.
